Matt is a composer, musical director and actor.
He is artistic director of the newly formed 'Theatre In The Quarter', professional and community musical theatre company based in Chester, whose first three productions have received high acclaim.
Matt received great reviews for his role as composer and musical director for the Dukes Playhouse Lancaster's recent sell-out productions of 'A Christmas Carol', and 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer'. Matt was composer for the highly acclaimed Chester Mystery Plays 2003.

Matt has worked extensively as composer and director with young people's projects: he is artistic director of Chester based Jigsaw Music Theatre Company for children, and musical director/composer with Cheshire County Youth Theatre. His international work as musical director with young people has taken him as far as Vienna, Melbourne, Tanzania, Dehli and Yangon. His young people's opera The Spring Stone was performed at Chester Cathedral for the Cheshire Millennium Celebrations. He composed the official anthem 'Liverpool Bids Farewell' for the 2002 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and 'From The Ocean to the Stars' for the opening of the Liverpool World Museum, both of which were performed by hundreds of children from across the North West.
Matt is also director of the women's maverick choir A Handbag of Harmonies.
Acting credits include; Narrator in Roald Dahl's The Twits (UK Tour and London), Duke Box in From A Jack To A King (Oldham Coliseum), Malvolio in Twelfth Night (Chester Gateway), Rasputin (UK/Germany tour), Threepenny Opera (UK tour), Puss in Blue Suede Boots (Liverpool Everyman), Cinderella (Liverpool Neptune), Magic Book (Action Transport Theatre). Matt played alongside Keddy Sutton in the three plays for Action Transport and Leicester Haymarket: Jack In The Junk Box, Jack and the Little Fir Tree and Jack's Midnight Surprise which he also co-devised.
TV Credits include BBC Cutting It, Merseybeat and What Are We Like and Yorkshire Television Emmerdale.
Matt is also a well known piano vocalist entertainer.
